Clinical Medical Assistant program at Chance:

Chance Medical Academy’s Medical Assistant Course includes 5 different certificates:

  1. Medical Assistant
  2. Phlebotomy Technician
  3. EKG workshop certificate
  4. CPR
  5. Career Development workshop

All courses and certifications are structured through the accredited National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and outline course work and materials given to prepare for the NHA exams.

Our Medical Assistant Program at Chance Medical Academy is a comprehensive educational program designed to train individuals in the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a medical assistant in various healthcare settings. Medical assistants play a crucial role in healthcare teams, providing both administrative and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The program covers a wide range of topics, including:

  1. Medical Terminology: Students learn the language and vocabulary used in healthcare settings to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.
  2. Anatomy and Physiology: A solid understanding of the human body and its systems is essential for medical assistants to perform their duties accurately and safely.
  3. Clinical Procedures: Students are trained in various clinical procedures, such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, administering injections, assisting with minor surgical procedures, and collecting and processing laboratory specimens.
  4. Medical Office Administration: This aspect of the program focuses on teaching students the necessary skills for managing medical records, scheduling appointments, billing and coding, insurance processing, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  5. Pharmacology: Students learn about commonly used medications, dosage calculations, and medication administration techniques.
  6. Medical Ethics and Law: Understanding ethical and legal considerations in healthcare is crucial for medical assistants to provide quality care while adhering to professional standards and regulations.
  7. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills are emphasized to ensure proper interaction with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
  8. Professional Development: Students are prepared for the job market through resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies. Some programs may also offer internship opportunities to gain practical experience in a healthcare setting.

Upon completion of the program, students may be eligible to sit for national certification exams, such as the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)  exams with the NHA, which can enhance their job prospects and demonstrate their competency in the field.

Overall, Chance Medical Academy’s Medical Assistant Program provides a comprehensive education that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the role of a medical assistant and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services.

Medical Assistants perform basic laboratory tests, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments. They may have additional responsibilities, such as instructing patients about medication or special diets, preparing patients for x rays, removing stitches, drawing blood, or changing dressings.

Upon successful completion of the Medical Assistant program, graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion from Chance Medical Academy. Students will also be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) certification,  and the Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) exam. All exams will be administered by Chance at the main campus to prevent students from traveling to remote locations.

Also after successful completion of the program you will be offered additional assistance on Job placement, resume editing, and other assistance as needed! All of our staff are great references to use when job searching so contact the office to get further details.
