Chance Medical Academy will introduce students to the use of specimen collection equipment, to collection procedures, and to acceptable standards of work in the industry. In addition, Phlebotomy instructors will present students to the basics in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control safety and best practices in the health care field. Although the content of the classroom & Phlebotomy classes are important, Chance also offers in-class lab time where the student(s) will perform draws and learn the basic techniques to being a skilled phlebotomist.
Phlebotomy Technicians work directly with patients to obtain the specimens necessary to perform testing for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
The phlebotomist is an essential link between patients and their doctors. Physicians rely on laboratory results for 70% of the objective information they receive on their patient’s well-being. This is why it is vital that specimen collection and handling is performed properly to ensure that these results are accurate. This all begins with the phlebotomist; their knowledge, their skill and their expert handling through the specimen collection and handling process.
Upon successful completion of the phlebotomy program, graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion from Chance Medical Academy. Students will also be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) certification examination. All exams will be administered by Chance at the main campus to prevent students from traveling to remote locations.
Also after successful completion of the program you will be offered additional assistance on Job placement, resume editing, and many more! All of our staff are great references to use when job searching so contact the office to get further details.
